A Brussels Shakespeare Society production for FEATS.
FEATS 2016 started with a bang! First up on the FEATS stage on Thursday 5th May was the Brussels Shakespeare Society’s “Wulf”, a reworking of the 11th century epic saga Beowulf staged as only Stephen Challens knows how. Two tribes, Geats and Danes – all women – battle monsters and dragons, in a tale of heroic deeds and bloody deaths. It’s high drama all the way.
Beowulf is one of the oldest works in the English language. An Anglo-saxon tale dating from the 11th century although the original story existed perhaps 250 years earlier than that. Looking at the most exciting parts of the myth. It was told through the eyes of the She-Wolves and the audience was taken into a strange world, where there was danger at every turn.
The picture gallery will give you a brief glimpse into a world of tough women and merciless monsters.
